  • New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins = 08/05 - 08/07

    Monday, 5th August,
    4:10 PM EDT
    Citi Field

Robert Dugger, RH (_-_, _.__, _ Ks) - Miami Marlins

Jacob deGrom, RH (6-7, 2.78 ERA, 174 Ks) - New York Mets

MARLINS: The Marlins turn to Dugger to start Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader. The 24-year-old, who owns a lifetime 3.83 ERA in the Minors (5.33 ERA in 2019), is set to make his MLB debut and will become the ninth pitcher to start for Miami this season.

METS: deGrom will need to pitch near-perfect down the stretch for a shot at a second NL Cy Young Award, including his Game 1 start against the Marlins. He has posted a 1.97 ERA since June 1.

    Monday, 5th August,
    7:40 PM EDT
    Citi Field

Sandy Alcantara, RH (4-10, 4.54, 89 Ks) - Miami Marlins

Walker Lockett, RH (1-1, 7.82 ERA, 9 Ks) - New York Mets

MARLINS: After making the National League All-Star team, Alcantara has recorded a 7.89 ERA over four second-half outings. The 23-year-old is 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA in three starts against the Mets this season.

METS: Lockett is expected to be recalled to start Game 2 of the twin bill against the Marlins. It will be his first start for the Mets since July 20, and he has gone 1-1 with a 7.82 ERA over three starts with the big league club.

    Tuesday, 6th August,
    7:10 PM EDT
    Citi Field

Héctor Noesi RH (_-_, _.__, _ Ks) - Miami Marlins

Zack Wheeler, RH (8-6, 4.45, 144 Ks) - New York Mets

MARLINS: Veteran right-hander Noesi will make his Marlins debut and first MLB appearance since 2015. After three seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization, Noesi went 11-4 with a 3.82 ERA in Triple-A this year.

METS: In his first two starts back from the injured list, Wheeler threw 73 and 88 pitches. The reins should be fully off Tuesday, as Wheeler looks to climb above 100 pitches against the Marlins. He’s beaten them once already this season, on May 10.

    Wednesday, 7th August,
    12:10 PM EDT
    Citi Field

Jordan Yamamoto, RH (4-2, 3.94, 49 Ks) - Miami Marlins

Steven Matz, LH (6-7, 4.60, 97 Ks) - New York Mets

MARLINS: In his last start against the Twins, Yamamoto pitched six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out a career-high eight batters. He will face the Mets for the first time on Wednesday.

METS: Things unraveled quickly in Matz’s last start, but prior to that, he had posted a 1.89 ERA in three outings since the All-Star break. A bit more consistency is what the Mets need out of Matz, who is now the lone left-handed pitcher in their rotation.
