Chris Paddack, RH (6-4, 2.70, 95 Ks) - San Diego Padres

Jason Vargas, LH (4-5, 4.25, 68 Ks) - New York Mets

PADRES: Paddack is making his first start since he nearly no-hit the Marlins. Paddack went seven no-hit innings before Starlin Castro's leadoff homer in the eighth. Paddack finished the game going 7 2/3 innings, allowing just one run and striking out eight.

METS: Scouts showing interest in Vargas prior to the Trade Deadline know what he is at this point. The veteran left-hander has pitched somewhere between four and seven innings in 14 of his 16 starts, allowing one to four runs in all but two of them.
