Joey Lucchesi, LH (4-5, 3.34) - San Diego Padres

Jacob deGrom, RH (5-4, 1.68) - New York Mets

PADRES: Lucchesi was optioned to Triple-A for the All-Star break so he could continue to pitch after missing a month with a right hip strain. He threw more balls than strikes in his first PCL start and allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings.

METS: The Mets’ lone All-Star, deGrom will return from his appearance at Padres Park to start Monday on extra rest. His superlative first half ended with consecutive outings in which he went eight innings, allowing a total of one run in those starts.

Eric Lauer, LH (5-6, 4.87) - San Diego Padres

Zack Wheeler, RH (3-6, 4.44) - New York Mets

PADRES: The rookie left-hander ended his first half with struggles against the Cubs. Still, he’s turned things around in a big way after a shaky start to 2018. Since the start of June, Lauer owns a 3.17 ERA, and he’s seen an uptick in fastball velocity.

METS: With trade rumors swirling around him, Wheeler will look to beat the Padres for the second time this season. Teams have recently checked in on Wheeler, whom many consider a more affordable trade target than Jacob deGrom or Noah Syndergaard.

Clayton Richard, LH (7-9, 4.82) - San Diego Padres

Corey Oswalt, RH (0-2, 5.64) - New York Mets

PADRES: Richard is coming off his worst start of the season, in which he allowed seven runs over three innings in Philly. He thinks a mechanical tweak is all that’s needed to fix his control issues. Richard has issued 18 walks in four starts this month.

METS: Oswalt will replace Noah Syndergaard in the rotation after Thor was placed on the 10-day DL for hand, foot and mouth disease. In his five games with the Mets this year, Oswalt has started four times and he's 0-2 with a 6.11 ERA in those starts.
