• New York Yankees vs. New York Mets = 07/20 - 07/22

    Friday, 20th July,
    7:05 PM EDT
    Yankee Stadium

Noah Syndergaard, RH (5-1, 2.97) - New York Mets

Domingo German, RH (2-5, 5.49) - New York Yankees

METS: Syndergaard’s seven-week stay on the disabled list ended when he fired five innings of one-run ball last Friday against the Nationals. Critical for Syndergaard will be proving he can stay healthy enough to pitch every five days from here on out.

YANKEES: German will open the second half for the Bombers, having stumbled in his final start before the break when the Indians peppered him for six runs in four innings. The rookie hurler is seeking his first victory since June 19.

    Yankee Stadium

Steven Matz, LH (4-7, 3.38) - New York Mets

Sonny Gray, RH (6-7, 5.46) - New York Yankees

METS: One of baseball’s best pitchers since the beginning of May, Matz posted a 2.91 ERA over his final 13 first-half starts. He’ll look to keep rolling at Yankee Stadium, where he allowed six runs in six innings in his only prior career outing.

YANKEES: Gray is coming off six scoreless innings of three-hit ball, striking out eight to defeat the Orioles in Baltimore. Prior to that, Gray had been hammered for 11 runs over 4 1/3 innings in his previous two starts.

    Sunday, 22nd July,
    8:08 PM EDT
    Yankee Stadium

Jacob deGrom, RH (5-4, 1.68) - New York Mets

Masahiro Tanaka, RH (7-2, 4.54) - New York Yankees

METS: The Mets’ lone All-Star, deGrom will return from his appearance at Nationals Park to start Sunday on regular rest. His superlative first half ended with consecutive outings in which he went eight innings, allowing a total of one run in those starts.

YANKEES: The last time Tanaka faced the Mets he ended up on the DL, as he strained both hamstrings while running the bases June 8 at Citi Field. Prior to the injury, Tanaka had permitted a solo homer over five innings, striking out eight with one walk.
