Patrick Corbin, RH (1-0, 3.00, 16 Ks) - Washington Nationals

Steven Matz, LH (0-2, 3.65, 13 Ks) - New York Mets

[INDENT] NATIONALS: Corbin faced the Mets on Tuesday, earning his first win of the season by striking out eight despite allowing eight hits and three runs over 5 2/3 innings. The lefty owns a career 4.48 ERA vs. New York.

METS: Frustration with his four-seamer has Matz considering abandoning the pitch. The Nationals burned Matz for his inability to throw inside last time out, frequently shooting his pitches to the opposite field.[/INDENT

    Citi Field

Max Scherzer, RH (0-1, 3.29, 22 Ks) - Washington Nationals

Rick Porcello, RH (1-1, 6.92, 10 Ks) - New York Mets

NATIONALS: Scherzer left his last start on Wednesday after just one inning because of a tweaked right hamstring. He was not concerned about the ailment and will not miss a turn in the rotation.

METS: Aided by strong defense, Porcello produced seven quality innings last time out. The Mets could continue starting their better defenders behind Porcello, given his propensity to induce contact.
