This is absolutely the best news that a Mets fan could ever receive. Christmas in August.

Close the deal immediately and escort Jeff out the front door, perp-walk style. The three Stooges can't get out fast enough for me.

it would be nice to have an owner with the passion that George Steinbrenner had, hopefully he's less of a dick though

so dumb question...how long is SNY's "exclusive" contract to the Mets broadcasting rights? If the WilKatz retain SNY, how soon could Cohen move his product to a competitor? It's not like the Wilkatz didn't do the same thing to WWOR, SportsChannel, MSG...

and the thing that pissed me off with SNY, is that outside of being close to NYC, you can't get the channel...If I stay at a hotel in Connecticut, or upstate NY, you get MSG and you might get YES; but you rarely see SNY as a choice...and Dish won't even show the SNY feed if you get the MLB Extra Innings Package...furthermore, the SNY news desks, stroke the Yankees ego, yet I am sure that the Yes guys know better than to stroke the Mets ego

              Good question, Sax.

I hope that Steve totally and completely cleans house.

Buh-bye Fred, Jeffy, and Saul. See ya Moving Van Wagenen. If need be so long SNY. This organization has been a dumpster fire for years now, time to clear the slate.

Just make sure you keep Gary. Keith & Ron.

This is an excellent point. I am hoping my favorite broadcast team is not a casualty of the impending sale and associated transactions.

The Mets broadcast is tied to SNY for a predetermined time, correct? In that case, SNY is not stupid enough to fire those three.

If Steve gets SNY in the deal, he is not a moron, those three ain't going nowhere. If he doesn't, nothing changes on the broadcast until the contract runs out.

If the contract is voided and the broadcast goes to another channel, I fully expect those three to be the first hires.

Bottom line, I don't expect there to be any change in the TV voices.

so what happens with the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Syracuse Sky Chiefs? As far as I know, the "Mets" own both franchises....so will Cohen own them? or will Sterling Enterprises own them?

Great question. And the answer isn't clear. Here's the only article I could find on the subject,
