Is the thread title due to the fact that the Wilpons kicked your puppy?

Every once in a while, this place turns into the Metsblog comments section,

The Mets, Wilpon's and Katz, treated DW special from being drafted out of HS in the 1st rnd. He responded by reaching the ML in his 4th season in the system and immediately made his mark, hitting .293/.857 in 280 PA. Over the next 11 seasons Wright put himself HOF path with a 50 WAR with 6 years of team control to go. The spinal stenosis ended that hope, but not without DW doing all he could do to over come the disease.

He was rewarded with a 6 yr. 55 M extension during his 3rd season and an 8 yr. 138 M extension in 2013 as well as being named as team Captain. The ownership relationship wasn't only one way, Wright played the game hard, was the go to guy in the locker room, was generous with his time with the Boys and Girls Clubs, the David Wright Foundation, in a charitable headed by Adam Wainwright as the NY representative and with Delta Airlines charitable efforts.

Wright wasn't ready to step away from baseball and someone would be knocking on his door with offers, working with ownership and Brodie Van Wagenen as assistant is deserved and keeps him in the home he has known for half his life.
