Mets' Hansel Robles: Designated for Assignment

Hansel Robles was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday.

Just a few days after being demoted to the Triple-A level, Robles lost his place on the 40-man roster. He will now be subject to waivers and could latch on with another organization, though the reliever will remain with Las Vegas if he passes through unclaimed. Through 16 appearances with the Mets this season, he's logged a 5.03 ERA and 1.58 WHIP.

Not the least bit surprised. It should have happened a few years ago.

Really??? I don't think a team will claim him...although I guess a team like the Royals have nothing to lose. And they could use bullpen arms after dealing Herrera.

Thank GOD someone claimed him. If he had cleared, they would have stashed him back at Vegas again and he'd be back like dog crap stuck to the bottom of your shoe...

Robles first action with the Angels on Sunday - enter a tie game in the 10th inning, and gives up a go ahead HR, and the Angels lose.

And yes, he pointed to the sky for the HR.
